The R.M. of Morris is looking to access federal funding in order to pay for some water and waste water projects in the municipality.

Reeve, Ralph Groening, said there is an opportunity with the new Investing in Canada program.

"The federal government has increased their share of contribution to funds available for the management of particularly water and management of waste water," he said. "We're proposing to take a look at the expansion of the Rosenort lagoon and communities of Aubigny and Riverside to come up with a plan that would provide waste water management for up to four hundred homes in the R.M. of Morris," added Groening.

Meantime, Groening said Council continues to spend money each year in order to maintain and manage other infrastructure in the municipality.

It includes $500,000 on gravel for 225 miles of roads, $300,000 over the last two years on bridge maintenance and almost $100,000 on culverts.

Groening added Council also continues to look for solutions to soil drifting which he said was a real challenge this past April. He noted the hope is to find a collaborative approach with area farmers.
