Residents in the RM of Stanley may experience discoloured or brown water today.

While officials say discoloured water does not pose a health threat if accidentally consumed, brown water should not be used for drinking, preparing food, laundry or infant formula.

Stanley officials say the discolouration is due to a loss of power and pressure late Monday night.

If you see coloured water coming from the tap, officials recommend turning on the cold water and letting it run for five to ten minutes. If the problem persists, contact the RM of Stanley office at 204-325-4101.
