Rising waters along the Pembina River have forced the closure of the Gretna, MB/Neche, ND border crossing for the second time this spring. Early Sunday morning water began overtopping the road on the south side of the border. The closure is in effect from the Neche border crossing to the junction of County Road 55 and Highway 18 in North Dakota.

The closure does not come as much of a surprise after Flood Updates from the province late last week indicated a second crest on the Pembina was coming, and it would be similar in size, but slightly lower, than the initial crest just over a week ago.
