Over 23,000 Manitoba Hydro customers have experienced outages today in Southern Manitoba.

The recent Colorado Low and its wet, heavy snowfall has caused a number of problems including galloping powerlines, transformer issues and fallen trees.

MB Hydro's Scott Powell says restoration has taken longer because of access issues and closed highways.

Some customers have been without power since 11:00 p.m Sunday.

Over 400 customers were without power in the RM Morris, while small outages, pockets between 5-10 customers, have been reported in the Pembina Valley.

Powell notes crews are working at full capacity to restore power, adding there may be some customers who will remain without electricity overnight.

In the mean time, he thanks customers for their patience and recommends power outages be reported on their website or 24/hour emergency line 1-888-624-9376.
