Now that spring is nearly here, many of us are thinking about spring cleaning. What may help you get that done is realizing it's actually beneficial to your mental health. Canadian Mental Health Association Manitoba Executive Director Kyle Berg explains.

"Anxiety can you make you feel like everything is piling up similar to the snow, and similar to how things tend to get over winter," says Berg. "We will put some stuff off because we get too cold."

Berg notes every good means of handling mental health includes taking care of the things you know have to be dealt with, so you have that sense of control, and not losing a handle on life. He adds that may include decluttering, accomplishing some spring cleaning, and even making a list of manageable goals you can reach.

The dark days of winter can also contribute to sluggishness, and the extra daylight that comes at this time of year is welcome by most.
