Overland flooding in the Municipality of Rhineland isn't causing much concern as a slow melt continues across the region this spring.

While tributaries like the Buffalo Channel have slightly breached their banks in spots, in some cases causing water to flow over low-level crossings, the waterways haven't posed much of a threat to rural areas.

In fact, earlier in the week public works officials indicated water levels were already going down as runoff from the west begins to slow and moisture is absorbed into the dry ground.

"People should still be aware of where they travel and be cautious," he said. 

The closures include:

- RD 30N closed between P.R. 422 and River Road south 

- RD 29N closed between P.R. 422 and River Road south 

- RD 2W closed between RD 31 and RD 30

- RD 33N closed between P.R. 205 and RD 1E

The municipality is urging caution in these areas.
