R.M of Stanley council has approved the Reinland Mennonite Church's cemetery expansion with a few conditions after neighbouring property owners voiced concerns.

Deputy Reeve Peter Froese said after some careful consideration the expansion was approved at its last council meeting.

Froese stated the regulations implemented will not allow any burial plots within twenty feet of the neighbouring properties and a row of trees must be planted as a buffer zone.
Those who opposed the plan said the expansion would be detrimental to property values and didn't want to expose their children to the burials.

"I hope we've addressed some of the neighbours' concerns there and everyone will be happy with the decision," said Froese.
