Strong winds contributed to a fire that started at a Carman restaurant Tuesday morning.

Carman-Dufferin Fire Department reports they were dispatched this morning to a structure fire. When firefighters arrived they found the rear of the building on fire near the roof.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze before it could spread to the rest of the building and the nearby structures.

As a precaution, RM of Grey Fire Department in Elm Creek was called to assit but were stood down before they arrived.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical ember fuelled by high winds.
