When Tessa Kort organized the first Janzen Chevrolet clothing drive for Winnipeg's Siloam Mission three years ago she thought it may be a one-time event. With the response received since then, including the biggest yet this year, it appears the drive will become an annual event.

Hundreds of pieces of clothing are being delivered to Siloam today after being collected at Janzen's Winkler and Carman locations since November.

"It's definitely a lot bigger, and it's all because of our customers and even people who don't always do their business here, but it's all about Winkler and how they've helped us," said Kort when asked about her reaction to the amount of clothing collected. She estimates a total of two pick-up truck boxes were received.

Kort started the drive after participating in a mission trip to San Francisco, and seeing first hand the need of those less fortunate. "Definitely don't think this is all on me," noted Kort, "I'm the one that organized it and everything, but I think it's definitely because of all the people that helped us out."

Kort has every intention of organizing a fourth clothing drive later this year suggesting, tongue in cheek, her goal for 2014 will be to fill the entire dealership showroom.
