The Color has added seven more GMA Covenant Award nominations to their already growing list of accolades since releasing their latest album, 'First Day of My Life'.
 
Award categories include Group of the Year, Song of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.
 
Lead singer Jordan Janzen notes taking home Song of the Year would be a real highlight.
 
Band member James Shiels adds the competition is fierce in the Group of the Year category, "it's a huge award... we're stacked up against people who've had a lot of international success, even to be nominated is a real honour."
 
Janzen is up for Male Vocalist of the Year
 
Janzen explains the awards are more than accolades, but affirmation their work is having an impact even in the midst of a sometimes grueling touring schedule.
 
The band is currently traveling across Canada on the First Day of My Life Tour.
 
"It's constant, we're always working on the next thing," Janzen says, adding they're already writing for the next album.
 
Along with the Canadian market they continue to see momentum build in the U.S, "it's been huge," Shiels says, adding the success of their latest single has opened the door to large festivals in the South.
