The Valley Ag Society has plans to bring back an old event in a new way this June. The event which is a tractor pull has not been held in the community for over eighteen years, and will take place at the communities Stampede Grounds.

The tractor pull called "Rumble In The Valley" is scheduled to take place a month prior to the organizations annual Manitoba Stampede held at the Morris Stampede grounds. The Manitoba Stampede is the only pro rodeo available to competitors in Manitoba.

"Over the last few months we worked with multiple competitors to bring the tractor pull to town, it's looking like it will be recognized as the biggest event of it's kind in the province," said Membership Director and Events Coordinator for the Tractor Pull Brian Wiebe.

Wiebe went on to say that competitors from all over have expressed interest in attending the event.

"We have competitors coming from Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northern United States. However there are a lot of local competitors as well from Winkler, Steinbach and all over Manitoba," explained Wiebe.

Wiebe also noted that the event will come with a large price tag.

"Just the cost of bringing this event to town with prize money and competitors is up around the $30,000 mark, so we do have a lot of work a head of us, as far as bringing in sponsorship. After talking to the organizer of the Odessa Saskatchewan Tractor Pull and local competitors, we are expecting roughly two thousand to three thousand people to attend the event daily, we are very hopeful it will be a very big event," expressed Wiebe.

The Valley Ag Society is looking to businesses and organizations in the area at this time interested in advertising at the event to help raise the funds needed.

"This is a really big event for The Valley Ag Society and we would really like to bring in more events like this to our community and Southern Manitoba, so I hope we have a great turn out," said Wiebe.

The event is scheduled to take place June 3rd and 4th of this year, more event details are available under Rumble In The Valley on Facebook.
