There is still a bit of time to be part of a Dufferin Historical Museum project, a history book on the Town of Carman.  The book is being put together as a way to commemorate Canada's 150th birthday this year.

Spokesperson Shirley Snider says they are looking for a variety of stories ranging from memories with friends and family, the history of a family business or tales that have been passed down through the generations.

Snider says some of the stories shared are childhood memories from a man who is now 98 years old.  She said however, stories don't have to date far back.  "I talked to a young person the other day and she said, "but I haven't been here very long."  But she said I do have one that was kind of funny, and she told me, and I said "that is perfect."

Snider, said the book, which she says is a labour of love for her, is coming together nicely with about 50 submissions so far.  She says they've collected some great stories, but also hopes to receive additional submissions highlighting the history of the business side of the community.

People have until February 28th to get their submissions in.

Stories can be submitted at the Carman Memorial Hall, or by emailing dksnider@mymts.net
