In Fall of 2019, the Town of Carman plans to develop a 10-year strategic plan for the town.

To help get the community's input before the meeting takes place, an online survey has been set up for locals to give their say on what they believe is most important.

This includes economic development, arts and culture, recreation programs, and emergency services to name a few areas.

A major portion of the survey includes spending. The town is asking where residents would like their property taxes to be used, and whether they believe Council should increase or decrease the current taxes.

Capital projects are also an important area of the budget. This year large portions will be invested into the final phase of the industrial park, new asphalt on some of the streets, reliable high-speed internet, and upgrades to water lines underneath Highway 13.

On top of all this, residents are encouraged to rate how important they find issues like truck traffic, healthcare services, crime and safety, and how they would prefer to learn about municipal issues.

Surveys must be completed by Monday, May 20. It can be found here.
