There's a new mayor in the Town of Morris and his name is Scott Crick.

Crick won the town's top job by capturing a total of 522 votes and unseating the incumbent mayor Gavin Van Der Linde and beating out fellow challeger Dave Smith.

Van Der Linde garnered 217 votes while Smith received 101 votes, giving Crick a comfortable margin of victory of over 300 votes.

He outlined one of the main priorities for council over the next four years ..

"I'm really humbled by the support I've received from the electorate and to receive the type of mandate I received as well. It's very humbling and I hope that for all the people that have put their faith in me and our new members of council that we're able to meet their expectations and repay their trust in us."

Joining Crick around the council table are incumbent councillors Tim Lewis, Ruth Murray and Trevor Thiessen who were all re-elected.

The three new people elected to council are Mel Baxter, Chris Hamblin, and Margaret Johnston.
