A 21-year-old female and a 48-year-old male are facing charges after stealing $3,500 worth in clothing and fragrances.

On July 12, Morden Police received a call regarding theft of fragrances from a local business. At the same time, police received a dispatch from the Winkler Police Service stating that one of their businesses had also had a theft of fragrances.

Winkler Police say loss prevention personnel confronted the female attempting to leave the store without paying for a large amount of merchandise. The suspect left the merchandise behind and fled the scene on foot.

Police later located and observed the female suspect entering a vehicle at a nearby location. Police conducted a traffic stop, arrested the male and female for Theft Under $5,000, and observed a large amount of merchandise inside the vehicle.

Police learned the merchandise was stolen from several retailers in the cities of Morden and Winkler. The 21-year-old female and 48-year-old male, both residents of Winnipeg, were transported to the Winkler Police Service and later released on Promise to Appears with conditions.
