This last weekend the Pembina Valley Humane Society (PVHS), held the Annual Access Credit Union Steps4Pets Walkathon. Altona hosted at the Centennial Park on the 9th, while Morden hosted at the Morden Park on the 10th.

"A foster is someone who just brings an animal into their house for one to three months usually," Megan Rodgers, the Public Relations Chair explained, continuing with how the shelter might not have enough room or the animals need further care in a home environment.

Rodgers explained the Walkathon's are the biggest fundraiser's of the year for the PVHS. This year $13,000 was raised for the shelter and it's animals. Rodgers further noted there was a $20 minimum donation that came with a tax receipt.

Rodgers noted all proceeds will go towards veterinary care of all the animals in the shelter and in foster care.
