Thousands of customers connected to the Pembina Valley Water Co-op system will be affected by a precautionary boil water advisory that will go into effect this week, starting today (December 14th).

The Water Co-op has scheduled some maintenance work on its reservoir at the Letellier treatment plant that will begin this morning at 9 a.m.

Co-op CEO Greg Archibald says the work could take a full week before the boil water advisory is lifted.

The precautionary water advisory will impact the following communities:

Town of Altona
Municipality of Rhineland including Plum Coulee, Rosenfeld, and Gretna
Parts of the Municipality of Emerson-Franklin, including the Emerson system
Parts of the RM of Stanley (Reinfeld system)
Parts of the RM of Montcalm including Letellier, and St. Joeseph (does not included St. Jean)
Halbstadt - Marias Water Cooperative
Altona Rural Water Cooperative
Roseau River First Nation
Blumengart Colony
