After the winter storm this past weekend the RM of Stanley faced a few challenges when clearing its 400 miles of roads. Some areas may have received up to 20 cms because of the Colorado Low.

However, officials say the weight of the snow caused equipment to slow down significantly. Another issue the public works crews faced during snow-clearing was snow pack building up along hills and at intersections.

Stanley officials say there were areas within the RM which had to be cleared a second time Tuesday.

Public Works crews have been out salting the roads a number of times in the villages and urban communities, while graders continue to plow snow on the rural roads.

The Municipality said most roads are now snow packed but are safe to travel on at a reasonable speed.
