A 37-year-old female is facing assault charges and resisting a peace officer after a pair of incidents September 2nd.

Morden Police were first called to the residence around 5:10 a.m regarding an individual yelling and screaming. Police attended and were advised that a female friend of the residence's owner was yelling and screaming inside and smashed a television. The owner wanted the individual to leave.

Both had been consuming alcohol, and the individual left without incident. Police say there were no charges as a result of this incident.

However, police were called back to the same residence around 2:25 p.m.

This time, the female broke through the front door and then broke into a room and assaulted an occupant.

Police arrived at the residence and spoke to the occupants who advised that the suspect entered the apartment, yelling and screaming, demanding her Xbox back.

One of the occupants locked herself in the bedroom along with her son, at which time the accused forced her way into the room, pushed the victim, and slapped her on the side of the head.

The suspect had then locked herself in a bedroom and refused to open the door, taunting police to come in and break the door. Police were able to force their way into the room where the suspect was lying on the bed.

Police attempted to place her under arrest for Assault but she pulled away from police and resisted. She continued to struggle and was forced to the ground and handcuffed.

She was escorted out of the residence but continued to resist and fight with police. The 37-year-old female was charged with Assault and Resist Peace Officer. She was served a Promise to Appear in Morden Provincial Court in October
