Thirty-five 4-H representatives from Manitoba attended the Global 4-H Summit that took place in Ottawa, Ont. from July 11 to 14.

Youth delegates at the 2017 Global 4-H Summit in Ottawa, Ont.Over 500 delegates from 35 out of the 70 countries involved with 4-H were in attendance at the conference.

Executive Director for Manitoba 4-H Council Inc. Clayton Robins said Manitoba had one of the strongest representations there.

"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for a lot of people to attend a global 4-H event, especially to have one so close when it was on our front doorstep pretty much ... the 4-H international
is a really aggressive organization looking to grow the program around the world, which includes in Canada as well, so it was a really positive experience," he said.

He added the conference was a beneficial networking opportunity and learning experience for all who participated.

"[It's] a great way for our folks to find out about how 4-H is done around other parts of the world, which is very different in a lot of countries compared to the way it's delivered here in Manitoba and other parts of Canada," said Robins.
