A painter at this week's show in the midst of working on a piece

Dozens of artists from across Manitoba, some from as far away as Flin Flon, were in Morden this week for what was billed as Manitoba's largest free show and art workshop. Seventy-five artists from Morden, Winkler The Pas, Flin Flon, Portage la Prairie, Winnipeg, other communities, and beyond participated in the event which took place Monday to Thursday. The goal was to directly link artists so they could share their creative expression with others.

Organizer Marcel Dubreuil says creativity was certainly on display with every type of medium imaginable represented including computer images on clay, ink abstract, and even coffee. He says there has been an explosion of experimentation in the province's arts community.

Dubreuil would love to see a show like this somewhere in Manitoba every year, and that idea was discussed at this week's event.

A highlight for the show was international artist Irvin Head, who brought in several incredible stone sculptures, and did a six hour stone sculpture workshop.
