A southbound vehicle travelling in the northbound lanes of Highway 75 Saturday afternoon led to a collision about one kilometer south of the junction of Provincial Road 201. Emerson RCMP responded to the two vehicle collision around 1:40pm.

The investigation found a northbound vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle, which was driving in the northbound lanes. The vehicles hit each other near the driver’s side tires on each vehicle, with one ending up in the ditch and the other staying on the highway.

The 25-year-old female driver, from Winnipeg, who was driving northbound, suffered very minor injuries, and was treated and released on scene. The 82-year-old female driver of the southbound vehicle, from Emerson, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending under the Highway Traffic Act for the 82-year-old who was travelling in the wrong lanes.
