Municipal elections are fast approaching.

 

Geoff Lambert, a political science professor at the University of Manitoba, encourages people to get involved.

 

He says it's fun to get involved with elections and encourages participation.

 

Lambert agrees every community has it's tensions, but political competition is a way of easing them.

 

The nomination deadline is September 19th.
