Carman's deputy mayor has decided to retire from council in the upcoming fall elections.

Bob McKenzie feels his 28 years has been well spent and it is time to make way for new blood.

Throughout his time in council he has contributed to Carman's Industrial Park, being the founding director of Boyne River Bed and Breakfast and organizing a citizen committee for the diversion flooding project.

McKenzie says he will miss his fellow councillors and the ups and downs of being on council.
