It has been over two years in the planning, and ground has finally been broken at Blue Sky Opportunities' new location in Altona. Construction started a week ago with sewer and water installed. The parking lot was being put in this past week to make way for foundation equipment.

Richard Neufeld, General Manager of Blue Sky, says construction is expected to take five to six months, ending hopefully in March 2017.

As with any large project, the plans and costs have changed.

“The budget that was given reflected costs and also the size. The size of the building was 14,000 (square feet) and due to needs and requirements we're just over 16,000. Our budget now is $253,000 over what our initial budget was.”

Neufeld says donations are still gladly accepted, and they will continue to look at grants to cover the expanding costs.
