The Nellie McClung Foundation announced the 150 Manitoba Women Trailblazer Awards in January. An opportunity to salute the contributions that Manitoba women have made, in a variety of categories.

www.nelliemcclungfoundation.com says: "These Trailblazer Awards honour Nellie McClung’s vision by recognizing the spirit of her life’s work being advanced by women leaders of today or throughout Manitoba’s history. The 150 Manitoba Women Trailblazers (were) officially announced on January 28th, 2021, the 105th Anniversary of most Manitoba women being the first in Canada to receive the right to vote."

Bette Mueller's name was among that list. Someone we recognized immediately as a strong advocate for the continuation of Nellie's legacy, and who has put a lot of her time and efforts into preserving that history, through Nellie's Homes in Manitou. (www.facebook.com/visitnellieshomes).

Bette says it is important to have this list of names:

She had been an advocate for equal rights in her time as a School teacher as well:

We've certainly come a long way:

Nellie's Homes continues to be a destination for many, including bus tours that want to see these historic buildings and artifacts:

And it's special that the historical site remains where Nellie McClung made her home, in Manitou:

Thank you Bette for your contributions, and congratulations. Bette left us with this encouraging word:
