A special good morning to Charles Thiessen who sent us an email this week... an early Christmas gift if you will. The note included a picture of a collection of memorabilia from our past including the still sought after Jim and Olly’s Favorite Christmas Recipes cookbook we published in 1972.

The cookbook was created after an extremely successful contest at that time which had hundreds of listeners submit their favourite Christmas recipes. One recipe was read each day, and a prize was given at the end of the contest. The overwhelming response lead to the creation of the cookbook which included just a small sampling of the many received at that time. The sections included Christmas Cakes and Puddings, Cookies, Pies, Dainties and more.

It was a tremendously popular cookbook, and something we still hear about from time to time nearly 50 years later... and something we know many of you still have in your kitchens, and use regularly at this time of year!

So, Charles, thank you for sending us that picture and reminding us of a CFAM Christmas season past.

Our copy of the cookbook is part of the Christmas decorations we put out every year inside the CFAM studios
