The Boundary Trails Health Centre is currently under a 'Code Grey,' due to the persistent snowfall.

Director of Health Services, Kyle MacNair, says a 'Code Grey' is a procedure they follow to manage staff and patients during a winter storm.

With Highway 14 closed, MacNair recommends all patients and visitors to stay off the roads if possible.

"People shouldn't be coming into the hospital for routine procedures or routine bloodwork. If it's routine and it can be delayed, please don't come in. The roads are closed all around the hospital."

If it's a life-threatening medical emergency, he says to call 911 to receive advisement from emergency services on how to proceed.

MacNair says they are working on a plan to meet their staffing demands. Either by keeping staff at the hospital or finding a way to transport personnel between the two communities.
