Candidate registrations for the upcoming Morden Mayoral by-election will be accepted from November 8th to 14th. In a news release issued yesterday, the timeline was announced, along with the instructions regarding how to register.
Prospective municipal election candidates must register with the Senior Election Official during the registration period before they can accept contributions, incur expenses, fundraise, or borrow money for their campaign. Ted Fransen is acting as the SEO.
Morden residents will go to the polls to elect their next Mayor December 20th. The by-election was prompted by Brandon Burley's resignation earlier this month.
Meantime, the City has opted to hold a separate by-election to fill the one councillor position left vacant when Florian Lasnig resigned at the end of September. A date for that by-election will be determined at a later date.
