The new year has gotten off to a busy start for the Carman Dufferin Fire Department. According the department's social media, members have responded to two vehicle incidents so far this week.

Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters attended a two-vehicle collision west of Carman on Provincial Road 245. According to the department's post, snow and poor visibility had the driver of a pick up truck favouring the shoulder of the roadway as it traveled east behind another vehicle. The pick up then collided with a construction vehicle parked on the side of the road. No one was injured.

Meanwhile, around 11 p.m. Monday, firefighters attended a single vehicle incident south of Carman on Highway 3. Upon arrival, they found a semi truck and trailer in the northbound ditch. As a result, traffic was reduced to one lane for just over an hour, and the vehicle was towed from the scene. The department says the driver was already being treated by paramedics when crews arrived.
