11:00 a.m. (Monday):

The Town of Carman reported a water main break near the water treatment plant early Sunday afternoon. To help keep water flowing throughout the evening the Stephenfield access was opened.

The exact location of the break was unknown which has resulted in limited traffic access by the back lane of the plant, and 1st Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue.

This morning the Town reported that work is currently underway on fixing the break, but it is causing low water pressure everywhere in Carman.

Residents are being asked to conserve water until further notice while employees work to isolate the issue to a smaller area as quickly as possible.
