Friday marked the long-awaited return of the Clean-a-thon at Ecole West Park School in Altona. The pandemic forced the cancellation of the long-running event for the past two years.
The annual tradition sees students in Grades 4 to 6 take to the streets and clean up garbage and other debris that has been revealed with winter's melt, sprucing up tree lines, ditches, parks and boulevards for the warm summer ahead.
Prior to the event, the students gathered donations and pledges from within the community. The money raised each year benefits Blue Sky Opportunities.
