It may look a little different this year, but the 19th annual Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) Golf Classic is happening... re-imagined for today’s circumstances and protocols. Called the COVID Cup Edition, CMU is giving supporters the opportunity to play a round at any golf course in Manitoba, Canada or the United States, and submit those scores for the tournament, with prizes available to all who do.

It opens up the tournament to well beyond the usual 144 who can golf, and still provides the opportunity to support CMU Blazers Athletics programming as well as International students who are especially vulnerable as they struggle in

Levi in action with the Blazers present circumstances to continue their education.

Levi Klassen just completed his second year at CMU in the Bachelor of Science program, and is a member of the 2020 Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference Championship winning Men's Blazers Volleyball team. Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner chatted with Levi, who is originally from Calgary, about his decision to come to school at CMU.

Levi also told us winning the championship was certainly a highlight this past school year, noting his entire experience at CMU since joining the school two years ago has been amazing.

Levi Klassen is just one of dozens of students involved with Blazers athletics at the school. And along with international students, both groups will benefit from the 2020 CMU Golf Classic COVID Cup Edition which is now underway.

You can register today, and play your round of golf at pretty much any golf course until August 31st, and support CMU like you have for the previous 18 golf tournaments. Click here for all information, and to register now.

While your there, check out the launch video, which Chris had the opportunity to be part of. It was a windy day at Assiniboine Golf club when it was filmed, and a big thank you to CMU’s Darryl Neustaedter-Barg for making Chris look great! We especially like the putting part.
