Carman streets are getting busier, so the town has created an extra stop.

Stop signs at the corner of Second Street southwest and Third Avenue southwest were added about a week ago.

Town councillor Ron McClain says the school asked for the signs to be put up, and council readily obliged, making the streets safer.

McClain believes the new stop signs should not create an issue because people are more careful in school zones.

He notes this was a proactive step, and it was just a matter of making a two-way stop into a four-way.
