The Manitoba Junior Baseball League All-Stars are national champions. The MJBL All-Stars scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and beat the host team 6-4 in the gold medal game at the Canadian Junior "AAA" Baseball Championship in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. Mac Batchelor of the Altona Bisons got the win. He went five innings allowing seven hits and struckout four. Anthony Friesen of the Pembina Valley Orioles pitched the last two innings. He gave up three hits and recorded two strikeouts. Cody Hunter of the Elmwood Giants and Kellen Burman of the St. Boniface Legionaires had two hits each. Dale Fehr, Josh Ginter and Mark Hildebrand of the Orioles were also on Manitoba's gold medal winning team while Pembina Valley manager Brent Laverty was on the coaching staff.
