Update at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, June 2nd - According to officials with the Municipality of Rhineland, the Gretna Sewer lift was able to be repaired Wednesday, and the system caught up overnight. 

The sewer system in Gretna is now functioning normally.  


Residents of Gretna are being asked to limit their water use.
A notice from the Municipality of Rhineland explained the sewer lift station in the community is currently experiencing a mechanical failure and it is unknown when it will be fixed. Crews are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
As a result, residents are also being asked to direct all sump pump outlets onto their yards and not into the sewer.
