Bryson Loewen of the Miller Aces and Zachary DeGraeve of the Pembina Tigers are recipients of the Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association’s hockey scholarships.

Loewen is the recipient of the Ken “Friar” Nicholson Award and a $1,000 scholarship. The Aces captain was named a Zone 4 High School Hockey League all-star and was presented with the Lloyd C. Orchard Most Sportsmanlike Player Award. He’s a member of W.C. Miller Collegiate’s baseball, badminton, cross-country and track teams and maintains an academic average of 95%

DeGraeve received the Winnipeg Jets Alumni and Friends Scholarship worth $2,500. The Tigers forward, who has an academic average of 93%, participated in hockey, cross-country, golf, volleyball, and basketball. He was an assistant coach for the junior varsity boys volleyball team at Treherne Collegiate and took on the position of head coach of the jv boys basketball team that won the Zone 6 championship banner and qualified for the A/AA Provincials.
