Morden police are investigating a recent incident of email fraud.

Last week Thursday, police received a call by the complainant, who advised that he had done contract work for a business and sent them an invoice through email.

Shortly after, the victim learned that his emails had been intercepted by the scammer and that the scammer was in contact with the business that owed him money.

The business ended up paying the scammer the money owed to the victim.

Police are continuing to investigate this matter.

The Morden Police Service says while e-transfers are generally safe, it is a good idea to confirm any transactions in person, before sending large sums of money.

Meanwhile, Morden police continue to investigate an electronic theft that happened over the weekend.

On Saturday, police received a report from an individual, advising that a large amount of money had been e-transferred from his bank account.
