Nestled in the heart of Morden, the annual Corn & Apple Festival stands as a testament to the deep-rooted bond between its residents and the land they call home. This three-day extravaganza, which took place over a weekend, drew a staggering 80,000 attendees, all eager to partake in the festivities that showcased the town's core.

"We're always very grateful for our support from the city of Morden. They're wonderful supporters of the festival. It doesn't happen without the city. We are just so thrilled with how things are going," said Tim Hodge, the Executive Director of the Corn & Apple Festival.

The festival kicked off with classic carnival rides on Friday. A spirited parade took place Saturday morning, setting the tone for the rest of the weekend.

The heart of the event lay in its Farmer's Market, where local vendors proudly displayed their items. Classic carnival rides added a touch of nostalgia and excitement, creating laughter and joy.

Live busking sessions filled the air with enchanting melodies, encouraging an atmosphere of musical harmony. The sweet scent of corn and cider perfumed the festival grounds, drawing attendees towards the sweet corn and cider sales.

"The festival went really smoothly, and we've got great volunteer support. We've got a couple of wonderful co-chairpersons running it this year and have done a fantastic job; everybody seems so happy," said Hodge.

One of the festival's highlights was the kids' art tent, encouraging the creativity of the young ones. One of the most anticipated offerings was the free corn, representing Morden through the festival with of sharing and community.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the main stage came alive with various musical performances, uniting attendees in dance and celebration. This experience highlighted the festival's core purpose: strengthening the community's bonds.

Morden's Corn & Apple Festival wasn't just a gathering; it was a sharing of traditions, flavours, and laughter that will continue to draw people back year after year.
