Pembina Valley Orioles Pitcher Anthony Friesen got the win as the Manitoba Junior Baseball League All-Stars shut out Saskatchewan 7-0 on day one of the National AAA Junior Baseball Championship in Trois Riviere, Quebec. The MJBL's strikeout king fanned six batters over four innings of work. Fellow Oriole Dale Fehr struck out five batters in two innings of relief. Manitoba pitchers gave up only one hit over nine innings. The MJBL All-Stars scored their seven runs on seven hits. Manitoba will play their next game at 7:30am this morning against Nova Scotia.

Manitoba lost both of their games on day one of the National AAA Midget Baseball Championship in London, Ontario. Losing 8-1 to London and 10-0 to BC.

 

 

At the Western Region "AAA" Pee Wee Baseball Championship in Brandon, Mid West lost 12-6 to Ridge Meadows, the Saskatoon Braves beat Winnipeg South 13-6, Brandon beat Regina 8-7, and Mid West fell 6-5 to Spruce Grove.
