No new cases were identified Friday in Manitoba, keeping the COVID-19 total to 294.

Yesterday, the province announced two new cases and clarify they are likely related to travel.

No individuals are currently in hospital, though officials are monitoring 14 active cases and 274 individuals have recovered. The number of deaths remains at seven.

As of yesterday, an additional 1,115 laboratory tests were performed. This brings the total number of tests performed since early February to 42,306.

The province's second phase of reopening starting Monday, and Manitoba's Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin provides more details on how they will initiate phase three.

"Ideally, when we make big changes we'd like to have two full incubation periods to look at, so we're looking at 3-4 weeks," Roussin says. "Just like in phase two we were able to get ahead of it a bit and increase group sizes."

He notes they're monitoring the data closely and will be watching the impact of phase two's loosened restrictions.

"As soon as we feel it's safe to loosen restrictions we'll do so."
