The opportunity is now to have your voice heard as we celebrate the best in business and non-profits at the upcoming Altona and District Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala April 18th at the Rhineland Pioneer Centre. Nominations are now being accepted.

"There will be four awards presented to well deserved businesses, entrepreneurs and non for profit organizations located in the community," explained Stephanie Harris, Chamber Director and SEED Economic Development Officer. "So, if you are able to nominate, we would encourage you to visit the Chamber's new website which is www.altonachamber.com. You can also stop by our office, or give us a call. Our phone number is 204-324-9549."

The four categories accepting nominations are:
Non-Profit of the Year
Entrepreneur of the Year
Business Excellence (10 employees or less)
Business Excellence (11 employees or more)

The deadline to nominate a business is Thursday, March 28th. You can find the online nomination form, here.

"I most look forward to celebrating our community," shared Harris. "It's great to see everybody get together. The businesses and community members coming out to celebrate our local businesses, as well as our entrepreneurs and our non-profit organizations, and everybody that makes this community as special as it is."

And why is it important to nominate a business or non-profit, and take some time to give them the chance to be recognized for the amazing work they're doing?

"It's important to continue to encourage those that are doing well within our community," she said. "We really want to be able to highlight the successes that are taking place."

You can reserve tickets through the Chamber's website, call the office or stop by to buy them in person.

The entertainment for the evening will be Chris Funk The Wonderist who has been featured on NBC's America's Got Talent and the CW's Penn and Teller Fool Us.
