Highway 32 in Winkler, between Cargill Road and Roblin Boulevard, remains closed as an investigation is now underway after what social media posts by Winkler Police Service describe as a "serious collision".

Police Chief Ryan Hunt tells PembinaValleyOnline officers responded to the incident, and determined a vehicle travelling on 1st Street (Highway 32) collided with a male riding a bicycle across the street.

The injured male bicyclist was transported to Boundary Trails Health Centre with serious injuries.

Police are asking motorists to avoid the area, indicating the closure will be in effect for the next "several hours" while traffic collision investigators complete the on-scene portion of their investigation.
