Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate after a four year old boy from the R.M. of Dufferin drowned Sunday.

Around 5 p.m. Sunday, RCMP received a report of a possible drowning in a rock quarry on in the R.M. of St. Andrews. Officers were advised the boy was playing in the water near the beach when he was lost from sight.

Emergency services were immediately contacted, and upon arrival, conducted a water and ground search.

At approximately 7:25 pm, the boy’s body was recovered from the water.
