A water tanker, boasting a 5,000 U.S. gallon capacity, is now operating within the R.M. of Morris Fire Service. The tri-axle, former oil field water tanker, was donated by resident Russ Goosen.

t of the equipment that was needed to make it compliant with the standards," he explained.

As a result, the tank itself was lowered in order to bring down the vehicle's centre of gravity. A number of fire service related pieces of equipment and appliances were installed; a dump shoot, carrying capacity for two portable water tanks, a pump and various pieces of emergency lighting and equipment like sirens and red flashing lights.

"Sort of all the stereotypical stuff you see on a fire truck," said Dackow.

Dackow noted, the Department was fortunate to receive the donated unit, as well as a grant from the Office of the Fire Commissioner to help pay for the modifications.
