Winkler's Remembrance Day committee has collaborated with students and staff at Garden Valley School Division to take this year's service online.

Rob Wiebe says they've created a video that will look very much like a traditional Remembrance Day service.

"We've managed to do a lot of recording outside at the cenotaph in Winkler," he explained, adding most of the other recordings were done inside a studio at the Garden Valley Collegiate. Cascades with pictures and photographs will also be added to the video as the vocals are being recorded. "We've managed to put together something that I think will be respectable and enjoyed by many," said Wiebe.

He adds getting the high school students involved in this project speaks to the mission of ensuring Remembrance Day is not forgotten and that people will remember those that served our community, country and the world, and those who continue to serve today.

"These are people that need to be respected and remembered," he said. "The sad part is that we do lose some of our servicemen and women and this shall not be forgotten. Their supreme sacrifice is what makes Remembrance Day so important."
