A Roseau River First Nation man faces several charges following an incident on the weekend.

Officers with Manitoba First Nation Police Service responded to a call early Saturday morning at a residence where they found a female with stab wounds to her hand. The victim revealed she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.

The woman was taken to Morris Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

A 31 year old male from Roseau River First Nation was taken into custody, and is now facing several charges including assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
