Friday night Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner was in Morden MCing the Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation's annual fundraising banquet. The event was sold out, and featured keynote speaker Michael Landsberg, and his story of living with a mental illness.

Michael has been a broadcaster since 1984, when he was on the desk the first day TSN went to air. He also was the host of the longest running Canadian TV Talk Show “Off The Record”. He built a reputation for being a direct, to the point interviewer, and someone who wasn’t afraid to ask the hard questions… not to mention the tough as nails persona he exuded.

But as the hundreds at the banquet found out, that was all a facade… a mask as Michael put it… because he was living with a mental illness and struggling with depression and anxiety, and it was that reality which led Michael to create the SickNotWeak campaign.

Chris continued the conversation with Michael by asking, when he reflects on what Sick Not Weak means to him, whether the meaning has changed since the movement was created.

TV and Radio broadcaster Michael Landsberg sharing some of his personal battle with depression, and how that led to the creation of the Sick Not Weak website, and his passion for breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness. Thank you, Michael, for speaking with us.
