The importance of connecting with loved ones has not changed. However, our ability to connect, and still follow public health orders has. Eden Mental Health Centre has finalized a way to safely allow those spending extended stays at the facility, to connect with their families, through something called a "Visitor Pod".
Karma Sheppard, Program Director with Eden Mental Health Centre joined us for a conversation about the completed project at Winkler's Eden Mental Health Centre (EMHC).

So how does the Visitor Pod work?
Because EMHC is not a long-term care facility, it didn’t qualify for a provincially provided pod, so they had to find a way to do this on their own. It was made possible due to the generosity of community members and businesses:
The pod will still be useful post-covid:
