A mild, Pacific air mass continued to give record warm temperatures to Manitoba on Wednesday, with the warmest January 31st in decades at some locations. Environment Canada recorded  two dozen new daytime high records yesterday, with Winkler and Morden being two of the highest temperatures in the province.

"Wednesday appears to have been the last hurrah of the really warm weather, but to be clear, we're still expecting well above average temperatures for the next three to five days," explained CMOS Accredited Weathercaster Chris Sumner. "A cold front associated with a low pressure system that crossed through northern Manitoba yesterday has ushered in somewhat cooler air to the region for Thursday, but it will still be ten degrees warmer, or more. As surface winds turn southerly tonight and through Friday, temperatures will warm up, once again, to daytime highs in the +3 to +6 range through Monday."

For the second consecutive day, McCreary had the hottest temperature in the province, coming in at 12.1.
